Wow, now I’ve caught up on sleep and re-hydrated my body here’s a quick low down from Sundays Baton Twirl Comp.
Firstly a huge well done to everyone who danced on Sunday, it was a long day and as much as I love the heat it was just ridiculous in the hall while the dancing was going on, everyone did fantastic! Looking forward to the September comps and back to Morley - a firm favourite venue for me, despite the roundabouts we tackle to get there!
So the competition- it was FIERCE! Some spectacular routines performed and with that in mind as a troupe we did fantastic with our placings:
Baby Mascot - 2nd place tie
Baby Leader - 4th place
Baby section - 2nd overall
Dinky Mascot - 3rd place
Dinky leader - 4th place
Baby section 3rd overall
Tiny Leader - 4th Place
Junior Mascot - 2nd place
Junior Leader - 1st place
Junior Section - 3rd Overall
Seniors - Special award for Lucy.
Sunday was also a hugely sad day for us as a troupe but in particular our Senior girls, as we said goodbye to not just 1 but 2 of our long dancing girls, Jaz and Ki. The girls have both been a part of the butterfly family for over 10 years and during this time have danced their way through the sections to seniors fetching in medals and trophies galore, we will miss them greatly as they take the next step in their own lives and wish them lots of luck for their futures. You’ll always have a place in the butterfly family if you wish to return.
So we have a nice break from competitions now over the summer. This time will be spent wisely as our trainers are preparing to work hard ready for September and we have a number of events we are due to perform at locally to support our town which will keep us busy.
