This is probably going to be the longest blog post I’ve written to date but I’m sure now you’ve experienced universals for your self you will Understand why and I hope you have all enjoyed the experience as much as myself and the rest of the committee!
First things first - the biggest 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊𝐘𝐎𝐔 to each and every dancer, parent and supporter for the weekend. The 2022 universals was (so I’m told by very long attending members and committee) the best year for support we have had and we can only hope to grow this in the future. The sportsmanship that was shown over the 4 days in the Spa was amazing and has also been recognised by other troupes within the YCA so a big 𝙒𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝘿𝙤𝙣𝙚 to everyone!
I’m literally still buzzing from the adrenaline of the 4 day event, I haven’t stopped and actually I was completely convinced today was only Wednesday until my eldest corrected me, for the last 7 days I’ve lived, breathed and slept Majorettes! The house looks neglected, the wash baskets over flowing still but it’s all been worth it for the 𝓐𝓶𝓪𝔃𝓲𝓷𝓰 results we have achieved.
From the decorations, banner, balloon arch, confetti, glitter, horns and glow sticks to the stinky sweaty socks. Glitter smeared uniforms, and glitter hair gel that’s now all over my bathroom it’s been 𝕊𝕡𝕖𝕔𝕥𝕒𝕔𝕦𝕝𝕒𝕣 from start to finish!
For, what I’m told, the first time ever to our recollection 𝙀𝙑𝙀𝙍𝙔 𝙎𝙄𝙉𝙂𝙇𝙀𝙎𝙀𝘾𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉 walked away with a placing! Along with the Pom section coming home with 𝙼𝚘𝚜𝚝 𝙸𝚖𝚙𝚛𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚍 𝚃𝚛𝚘𝚞𝚙𝚎! Simply ɪɴᴄʀᴇᴅɪʙʟᴇ!
Dancers should all be commended for their performances this weekend, you did us 🅟🅡🅞🅤🅓 and it really does go to show that with hard work, determination and dedication we can achieve great things! Keep up the great work into the new season and who knows what next year will bring!
I’d really love to hear the experiences from your point of view and the children so please send these across to me via Whatts app so I can share them with everyone else!
Of course there is also a group of Parents and committee members who took to the arena some out of their comfort zone and some who we would love to welcome to the senior section (training on Tuesday remember guys!) who performed in the parents dance! It's always so much fun and this year was excellent having so many of you join in, the kids love this part and ultimately it's for them that we do any of what we do, thank you goes to the wonderful Shell for training us - we aren't the easiest lot I don't think and be proud - we walked away with 3rd Place!! 🏆
Once again, thank you all for your support over the 2022 season, we can’t wait to take you all with us into 2023, shaking them Poms and twirling them batons.
